Launched in 2022, SBC Bold Action 2224 focuses on Mobility & Transportation, Renewable Energy & Net-Zero, and Inclusive Fintech & DeFi. Recently, 36 startups in Renewable Energy & Net-Zero and Inclusive Fintech & DeFi graduated from our program in June 2024. Reports on this cohort will be included in our Q3 2024 update.

Notable recent developments include E-doc closing part of their seed round, HMS nearing the end of its pre-seed round, and Oinride completing a funding round led by EIT RawMaterial.

As of August 2023, we have selected 20 more startups for the upcoming Renewable Energy & Net-Zero and Mobility & Transportation accelerators. In the coming weeks, we’ll add another 5-10 startups to the portfolio, with the remaining investments to be made in H1 2024.

Startupbootcamp onboards new Renewable Energy & Net-Zero and Mobility & Transportation startups to its Bold Action portfolio

Dear shareholders,

We are happy to announce the teams that will participate in the Renewable Energy & Net-Zero and Mobility & Transportation programs, both part of the Bold Action initiative.

Bold Action is a portfolio of ultimately 90 impact-focused startups which, as of last week, is tradable and accessible for investors via Nx'change.

The Renewable Energy & Net-Zero Program in Amsterdam will support solutions that advance the energy transition, including those that tackle the challenges of scaling and storing renewable energy, battery technologies, grid balancing, and improving the overall value chain. Through the Mobility & Transportation Program, Startupbootcamp and its co-investors invest in startups building Connectivity, Smart infrastructure, and Asset servicification solutions.

The new investments were selected during Selection Week, an online event with dozens of companies presenting their unique solutions. The week was packed and the audience got to witness 21+ hours of pitches that were the result of over 10.000 applications for the involved investment portfolios. The teams were then assessed by a tailored panel of investors, industry leaders, mentors and partners of Startupbootcamp.

After concluding the week last Friday, these startups were chosen to join the accelerator program and the Bold Action investment portfolio. Hereunder an overview of the selected startups:

Aqua Solar Aria - harnessing innovation to generate affordable green electricity and fresh water, starting from the United Arab Emirates, merging SDG6 and SDG7 for sustainable impact.
Pawa - Netherlands-based smart charging network providing convenient on demand solutions, ensuring hassle-free outdoor charging for productivity on the move while connecting businesses with potential clients.
GreenCheddar - sustainability-focused loyalty platform and energy surveyor, incentivizing sustainable behaviors and offering personalized energy-efficient retrofit recommendations to customers within and beyond the United Kingdom.
Zero Emissions Living - providing efficient, flexible, and visually appealing modular homes as a sustainable solution to meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly housing throughout Europe.
Hybrid Manufacturing - UK-based startup, advancing 3D Printing for a superior approach.
Milesell - tackling the energy industry in the Netherlands with innovative, small but powerful wind turbines, catering to both home and business needs.
Hizeem - your source for cost-effective clean energy solutions in Germany.
Carbonno - revolutionizing construction materials with AI-powered decarbonization solutions across the United States and beyond.
Sundex - improving Brazilian solar distributors and their installer's revenue enabling control over their own data.
Verinno - pioneering transmission capacity unlocking on current power lines to expedite renewable energy project integration across the United States.
A Truck - revolutionizing the logistics industry with a cutting-edge platform, functioning as the Uber for Trucks in Azerbaijan, Central Asia region and beyond.
Dliwr - pioneering climate-neutral, same-day deliveries through e-bikes in Germany.
Boxx Technologies - elevating e-commerce fulfillment with innovative micro-warehouses, enabling zero-emission same-day, next-day, or two-day deliveries in the Netherlands.
Geodo - empowering underground utility shareholders in Turkey with AI-backed decision support systems to optimize asset databases.
WASP Aircraft - Portugal-based WASP-500 tilt rotor aircraft with tip jet driven rotor, revolutionizing cargo transportation.
Pip Pip Yalah - transforming the future of commuting in Morocco by introducing carpooling solutions, fostering the sense of community.
Green Future Logistics - solution for optimizing last-mile logistics through global collaboration, empowering users to share resources and capacity for a greener future in Switzerland and beyond.
Foxi Boats - go-to mobile platform for peer-to-peer boat sharing, unlocking a seamless and adventurous waterway experience in the United States.
Piggyback - streamlining shared rides for kids through parent-friendly carpool matching and scheduling across the United States.
Upar - the peer-to-peer on-street parking app connecting spot owners with seekers for hassle-free parking solutions in Singapore.
C-Block - ultimate NO-CODE Smart Contract Generator, revolutionizing blockchain solutions across South Africa and beyond.

On August 10th, Startupbootcamp will host another Selection Round to select 10 more startups in the Mobility & Transportation domain. With this, they will conclude the investments targeted for 2023 – totalling the portfolio at 59 out of 90 targeted investments. In H1 2024, the final 31 companies will be added to the portfolio, after which the portfolio companies will be supported on their journey until an exit for SBC Bold Action 2224 BV takes place.

For the selected startups, the accelerator program will provide extensive support in establishing a thriving business, encompassing all aspects, from developing a product to securing funding. During the program the startups are also provided with direct access to mentors who have decades of experience in their industries and a network of potential partners and investors relevant to their specific business case. This program equips startups with the tools necessary to accomplish their objectives, grow, and realize their full potential.

The end of the program is marked by FutrXpo (Demo Day), which will take place on December 7, bringing together 2000+ impact changemakers, investors, mentors, partners and industry leaders. We are currently adding the next 20 startups to the portfolio, with them officially joining the portfolio on Impact Day - happening on June 1st (coming Thursday).
